How to punch harder

Alright, listen up, fighters!  watch my power punching video, Today, we're diving into the science behind one of the most powerful punches in the game: the right cross. This isn't just about throwing a punch; it's about unleashing a force that can knock your opponent flat on their back.

First off, let's talk biomechanics. Every movement counts, from the way you plant your feet to how you twist your torso. It's all about maximising efficiency to deliver a punch that's accurate and devastating.

So, step one: stance and weight transfer. Get those feet set, knees bent, weight balanced. Then, it's all about the hips. Rotate 'em like you're winding up a spring, driving that energy up through your body.

Next up, torso twist. You wanna feel that torque as you turn your upper body into the punch. That's where the power starts to really ramp up.

And don't forget about your shoulders. As your torso twists, your rear shoulder shoots forward, driving all that force into your arm like a cannon.

Now, let's talk about power and kinetic energy. It's all about turning movement into impact. Think of it like this: the faster you move, and the more mass you've got behind that movement, the harder you'll hit.

That means building muscle in your legs, hips, and core. Squats, deadlifts, core work - that's your bread and butter for generating power. But speed's just as crucial. Shadow boxing,  floor to ceiling ball & speed ball - anything that amps up your hand speed will crank up that kinetic energy.

But none of this means squat without timing and precision. You can have all the power in the world, but if you can't land a clean shot, it's worthless. That's where drills come in. Work with a coach, hit the floor to ceiling ball - whatever it takes to hone that accuracy.

And when it comes to training, we've got some killer exercises to amp up your right cross:

Medicine ball twists - get that rotational power locked in with some weighted twists.

Resistance training - lift weights to really build up your muscle strength.

And don't forget about those speed and accuracy drills. Focus mitts, speed bags - anything to fine-tune your timing and precision.

Mastering the right cross ain't just about being strong. It's about being a technician - understanding the science behind every movement, and using it to unleash hell in that ring. So, remember: precision and power. That's what separates the champs from the chumps.
